Default Changing carpet/interior

how difficult is it to change the interior in a 2004 coupe? carpet, glove box, LH knee bolster, kicker panels and pillars...I have the black interior and fould a complete interior from a 99 coupe that is firethorn red. I tried searching for more info in the forum, no luck. thank you for any guidance.

If you unbundle your Forum searches into the individual "systems" you want to change out (e.g. carpet, radio bezel, glove box, etc.) you can find lots of instruction.

Here's one on removal of seats from Vette Essentials:

http://www.vetteessentials.com/instr...er_change.html

Here's one for taking off the console and dash:

Here's one for taking off door panels:

http://www.vetteessentials.com/instr...or_handle.html

And here's one for removing the glove box:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...-box-tips.html

Beyond that, I suggest you visit the Vette Essentials website, as it has a number of "how to do it" threads. And some of the MAMO (and other parts vendors') on-line catalogs have how-to-install-it instructions that accompany individual parts. For example, MAMO has instructions for removing and replacing carpet - search for C5 replacement carpet and you will find the instructions.

There are others, of course, but these should be a good starter kit for your change-over. I just switched my interior from 100% gray to 100% black. Fortunately I did not have to remove the halo or other behind-the-seat plastic trim pieces. I do know that they are the most problematic (as compared to the sill trim, which is a straight pull-off exercise).

I spend many evenings just browsing the internet looking for "how to" articles, then cut-n-paste them into a word document. This builds a decent library of "how to" threads that I refer to whenever I have the need.

Hope this helped.

It's really easy swapping out the interior. I went from oak to black. The hardest part is removing the seats but really its easy and straight forward. The front carpet is 3 pieces. Drivers side, passenger side and the hump behind the seats. The glove box door is easy but swapping out the lock is a bit tricky but easy once you've done it. I bought mine on ebay and it didn't come with the key so I had to pick the lock to change the cylinder.

Are you selling your black parts? I've been hunting a drivers side seatbelt receptacle.

Try PartsTaxi and similar places for salvage parts.

I had gray receptacles, and simply dyed them black. Worked just fine.

And the links provided in the other post are very good for how-to's - I've used some of them many times on my car.
