100k mile vette for $16995. (been listed for quite some time - couple months) Maybe priced a little high...... if you don't want it then don't buy it right?
....but then shortly after, this post:
re: 2001 Corvette Plus anything with over 100,000 miles 16 grand for a car with over 100,000 miles on it! You kidding or are you for real? Anybody know what happens to Vettes when they hit 100,000 miles? Well, the tranny likes to stop working at about that milage...then you have the dozen or so censors go bad...then you will have wheel bearings start to go bad.........the list goes on and on and on.Believe me, i use to buy these 100,000 miles vettes then i realized how stupid i was.My advice? NEVER EVER BUY A CAR WITH OVER 100,000 MILES. ITS A VETTE YOU SAY? ITS BEEN IN THE GARAGE ITS WHOLE LIFE? LOL..IT STILL HAS 100,000 MILES ON THE NGINE AND TRANS. ITS A PIECE OF **** MY FRIEND....BELIEVE ME
price is high for what it is but this 90k mile 2002 z06 i have has no issues what so ever, none, zero
i think sometimes the less informed may look at a stock 1990 corvette with 100k and it really does not a lot of work. the car is 23 years old and age has worn many many things
a 2001 with 100k still has a good amount of life left before you start having to change a lot of parts......provided the car was cared for and not driven in the ground
It just goes to show you (YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID)my little Toyota Tacoma has 327663 miles on it and still runs very strong and that's my DD besides normal wear and tear as long keep up the maintenance a vehicle will last a long time
To be fair, one thing that's frequently overlooked is that mileage isn't everything.
For example, my 98 has only 80K miles on it. Not bad. But let's also remember it's fifteen years old. AGE my friends. In many cases, worse than mileage. Rubber and plastic starts to age, crack and rot. The sun fades colors and dries out seats. All sorts of things go wrong simply because of age. Park a brand new Corvette in your garage, come back in 50 years and see if it just needs a wash.
So let's not be TOO hard on the guy. While it's a cinch he wasn't all that bright, he wasn't all that far off either.
My guess is he really wants a Vette but for some reason was never able to get one. So now he needs to strike out against the name in order to prove he's a man. NAAAAH, just kidding, he's a jerk.
Remember that post that we read every few weeks......"How many miles can you do on a C5"? And the answers are 200,000, 250,000, 300,000 miles and more. One answer is good maintenance and a little luck.
This guy is someone that always wants a steal and if he don't get his own way , he cries like a little school girl. If he doesn't find what he is looking for then he need to grow up and move on.
