There is a control module in each door that contains the relays.
Two relays control the lock/unlock and there is one for the window.
The relays can be purchased thru DigiKey corp. They aren't expensive.
Plus the specs are better than the originals - they should last longer.

I have a link to an old how-to post, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. Says I don't have permission to access it. I guess they moved it to some sort of archive.
It's a shame, that was a great post and I think it should be a sticky since there are so many posts about this problem.
