IMO, torch red is just about the hardest color to get right in pics.

Many posts on this. Get yourself a polarizing filter for your dslr and have fun in direct sunlight. Better to avoid under trees as the contrast in dark and light shadows usually look weird.

I am learning....and HDR is fun to play with...
The next one (with my daughter) is still not right. I still do not like how the red looks. If I do much more editing the lines/door gaps fade away

On most DSLRs, the red channel will clip at the correct exposure. Underexpose by one or two stops to capture the red details at the high end and correct in CameraRAW. Shooting HDR will also capture the reds in the lower exposures obviously.
