Default Model differences

Hello, I'm new to the forum and vettes as well. I'm looking to find a C5 or a C6, but am a complete noob. I know this has probably been asked several times, but I couldn't get anywhere with the search feature.

Can someone please point me to a web page or thread that would have the specs on different models such as: 3lt, z51, frc etc...

Thanks for your help

I don't think such a page or list exists except in the minds of those who frequent these forums. To get you started:

3LT - This is an interior package identifier; the higher the number the better the interior. 4LT is the top package.

Z51 - This is a performance suspension package that is better than the base model but not quite as stiff as the Z06. This applies to both C5s and C6s.

FRC - This is an acronym for "fixed roof coupe" and refers to the pre-Z06 hardtop model available in the early years of the C5. This could also stand for "fuel rail covers" depending on the context.

Hope this helps.

If you just wiki "corvette" it gives a decent breakdown of all the models and packages, engine sizes. etc.

Yeah, I think all of the information is here, and elsewhere, I've just not seen it in one lump. Look at it as an exercise in learning how to use the advanced search facility, which is a good thing in itself.

Also worthwhile to check out the stickies at the top of the page.

You might pick up a copy of the Corvette Black Book (about $20) a good place to start and lots of that kind of info.

This site could help you but it'd be a lot of comparing pages. All of the years info is there.

Have to agree that the Corvette Black Book is a very valuable resource when you want to check out various Corvettes.

Actually, I just went back and checked and all of this information is available in the "Buying/Tech" files sticky at the top of the page.

I really suggest that folks take a peek there first.

Very true! I'd suggest going with the stickies first, both in the General and Tech forums. They were made stickies because the forum management/members deemed them being worthwhile information.
