[Z06] z06 seats
Corellian,
I finally hit 500 miles and took my car out for some "spirited" driving on some country backroads here in SC. I only hit AH once, but I was able to seriously throw the car into corners, and I have three observations.
1. The seats are very comfortable.
2. But they do NOT hold you in place as well as the sport seats.
3. Mine seems to have a little wobble in it. (I thought they fixed that crap!)
So... I find them comfy, but I don't think they are as good an autocross or opentrack seat.
That said, there are some racers here who disagree with me.

My convertible has the sport seats. I don't know how the Z's seats feel after a long drive, but I can say that just sitting in the Z, the seats are VERY comfortable. I've sat in them at the last two Carlisle Corvette shows, and nearly fell asleep I was so comfortable in them. Felt better than my sport seats. And I wouldn't give a hoot about the power assist on the passenger side, I don't sit there!! :D

Rather than suggesting that you shouldn't even consider owning a Z06 with the rest of us because you HERETICALLY suggest that you don't love everything about the car as it is HANDED TO US from GM...
I'd say that I have considered the same thing. I haven't confirmed this completely, but my preliminary information is that the sport seats should swap right in place.
Ecklers appears to sell factory repros, AND REAL LEATHER versions of the sport seat as well.
uh oh, now you did it, there goes DBK and the other cheerleaders running back to the dressing room in tears with their pom-poms dragging...............

Sure you weren't sitting in one of those SEALY cars? Your post made me think of the commercial. If you haven't seen it, it's pretty funny. Guy is at the dealership, sits down in a car, the salesman is there. The guys says, "wow, these seats are comfortable," then collapses unconscious onto the steering wheel. The salesman says, "it's a SEALY."
Then the announcer comes on and says, "That's why we don't make cars." And it turns out to be a commerical for Sealy Mattresses.
Well, I thought it was funny! :)

I had the same thoughts too in the beginning... but after I got the car... the seats were the furthest from my mind... I think they are just as comfortable too.. if not more than my others on my 98... :yesnod:
