Default Car Running Temp

Was wondering what the engine temp runs for most of you out there during the summer months. My car seems to get up to 225 - 235 very easily and was wondering what others are seeing. I replaced the thermostat and don't have any leaks around the water pump so was just curious. I have 58k miles on. Thanks for your inputs.

I had a Tstat put in and had the radiator and condenser cleaned out. It made a big difference. Before I was not getting quite as hot as your but 225 wasn't out of the norm. Now I almost never get even to 200 here in the TX heat. I'm usually around 190+ even in traffic and I've got 130k+ on mine.

with a tune on mine esp with the hotter temps out now..i will see 185 to 190 on the hwy and in traffic i will see it go to 205 to 210 then once i get moving again it will drop down to 195 to 200..but the key is cleaning between your rad and ac ...they get all kinds of stuff in there and then its reduces the engines air flow to cool greatly

cleaned the condenser, new radiator and all new hoses and water pump

198 if i'm moving it all, even in stop and go traffic on a 90deg day with the ac on it's maybe 210

cooling efficiency of a radiator starts going down as they age. scaling prevents heat transfer and so much crap gets stuck in them.

as cheap as they are to replace my vote is to just switch them out every 50k miles

A coolant flush dropped my running temps for the mid 220's to the low 190's.

Its very normal to see 190 to 230 temps.. nothing wrong with those temps, that why we set the fans were we did, 230 is 30 degrees from over heating.
Lots of people here with opinion but few have first hand knowledge of the design.

well there you go that is coming from the expert ..but it still does not hurt to clean between the ac and rad to help remove the items so it can cool better...

Here in Houston 100+ degree weather I see about 190 at cruising speeds and 210-220 max at stops with the A/C on.

I agree with everyone above who stated to clean your radiator and condensor.

I agree clean out your radiator and condenser. I suddenly started seeing similar temperatures a couple months ago. This is what I found. Cleaned it out and temps went back to norm of 180ish.

Thanks for all the help! I will definitely check the cooling fins and maybe do a coolant flush to see if there is a difference. Will post once done. Again, thanks for all the inputs

What does your oil temp run at? Is there an oil cooler that needs to be flushed out every other oil change? Mine oil temp runs at 210 to 220.

I will have to check to see what the oil temp is running. I don't believe there is a oil cooler that needs to be flushed. Oil would normally flow through an oil cooler if there was one and changing the oil would basically flush the oil cooler imho.
