I would not use never dull.. too abrasive. tips are stainless... one of the best products for polishing stainless is a product called Barkeeper's' friend or jet BonAmi both can be found at any big chain grocery store where they sell cleansers.
X4 on this, then I finish with:
Been using it on my boats for years. Cleans, shines and protects stainless, aluminum, chrome and plastics. I even use it on the under hood plastic. Get it in Marine or restaurant supply stores.
I strictly use Blue Magic on stainless that is already immaculate because it not only cleans and polishes but protects.
If there is any discoloration or damage I patiently use Barkeeper's Friend. Period. Barkeeper's Friend is simply an amazing product. They now have a new Barkeeper's Friend Soft Cleanser product that seems even more amazing. It is a liquid paste in a squirt bottle. I just cleaned my stainless steel BBQ with it yesterday. Looks like new.
Blue magic is un-beliveable stuff. It works wonders on my CCW's.
were you polishing by hand or a drill with a mothers ball type thing on the end of it? i've noticed by hand just doesn't get enough cutting power like a drill/powerball does. Especially if the tips are in need of a good cleaning
I was polishing by hand, prob do need to invest in one of those polishing ***** tho. I think I'm going to give thw barkeepers friend a try. The main problem with my tips are the dullness and very fine scratches. They basically have no carbon build up on them, just very dull.
From a suggestion posted on this forum, I use a product called Zephyr Pro 40. I have used almost every product previously mentioned here and none of them have worked as well or are as easy to use as this one. It truly is amazing and the easiest, most effortless to use. You can find it online or go to most large truckstops and they will carry it. This is what they use on those shiny 18-wheelers. That's where I got mine.

Blue Magic has been used by Harley owners for many, many years and it just flat out works. Really removes discoloration and leaves a protective barrier behind.
I STRONGLY recommend Blue Magic to all boat, cycle, and car owners.
Barkeeper's Friend, especially the new liquid paste BKF is for tougher jobs. After using BKF on those tough jobs, I use Blue Magic to finish, polish, and protect.
To establish a high sheen finish on bright metal, stainless, aluminum, etc., nothing....and I mean nothing outperforms Semichrome Polish!!!
Just my .02
DSTURBD
SemiChrome and 000 fine steel wool for exhaust tips as well as the BB66s.
If it's chrome or polished- semichrome is the best IMO.
I just use some fine steel wool with some acetone on factory stainless steel tips. On any of my cars and it gets all the old dark grey exhaust crud off and shines them up nice! Have never had a set of the fancy Borla, Corsa etc polished tips to clean up.

From: Wylie TX --> Less is More, except under the hood !
Adam's metal polish.
It just "melts" all the grime off the inside and outside of the exhaust tips.
It works on ANY BARE Metal. Its friggin amazing stuff.
MY 5 year old CCW wheels....
Someone is going to have to work HARD to convince me there is anything out there that comes even close.
There is NOTHING in the auto stores that even come close for sure.
Been there, and had a pile of useless store bought crap products to show for it.

What product can remove fine swirls from these SS exhaust tips?
There's a vendor on the forums who sells a polishing kit which includes buffers, simichrome and polishing compound. It may not get rid of it 100% but will help out a lot. There may be a stipulation where you can't use it on the tips you show though. I want to say you can't use it on the part that has the holes in it.

El, Top Flight Reproductions sells the polishing kit. Worth the money. Comes with polishing ball, two different grit rouge sticks, and Semichrome polish.
