I bought a fairly new Monte Carlo SS back in the eighties. My Mom came to visit and she was getting out of the back seat, she grabbed that little plastic thing that the seatbelt went through on the back of the seat to help pull herself up and it cracked.
I yelled at her. She cried.
She passed in 2009 and to this day I feel like a real *** because of a GD plastic piece on a stupid car that I don't even have any more and I could replace that piece for 5 bucks.
Love your family, they're worth more than all of the Corvettes ever built.
I can understand why you're upset, but personally, if my dad did that I would joke around about it and ask him not to do it again. My dad's a great person and sacrificed a lot for me. He is infinitely times more important to me than my car.

Yeah,,I know what you mean. My Mom BACKED into my first car,and I got a little upset with her,,but it passed and we laughed about it later.Turned the tables later in life when wife and I moved her in our house where I nursed her in her last few weeks rather than have her in a nursing home. With time the incident passes into a forgotten irrelevance in the grand scheme of life.
For the record I've had some of my practice foam golfballs land on mine when the breeze caught it ,,but they were floating down from lob wedge shots,,,and I don't make a habit of doing it to my car either!
I lost my Dad in '97. If I could have him back just long enough to give him one more hug,one more kiss on the forehead and to tell him how much I love him I would give my corvette and throw in my harley. Enjoy every second you have to spend time with your family. Don't waste one more second thinking about the plastic golf ball.

Back in 2003 I had a 2002 brand spanking new Mustang GT, and it was a 5 speed. My mom wanted to take the car for a spin because she really liked it. The car was parked in the garage facing the street. My mom somehow figured out how to turn the car on, and I always leave my standard cars in 1st gear; well, she dumped the clutch and took out the garage door. It just made a few scratches to my bumper, and I was mad at first. Now I laugh because she really wanted to drive my car, and while I was working she took out the garage door hahahaha. She was really sorry about it.. Get over it, it's just a car. I'm sure your old man didn't mean it in a bad way.

Dads bust their butt all day bringing home the bacon so you could have clothes on your back and food on the table. Then they find time to take you fishing and toss the ball around in the backyard. Most likely taught you how to drive and helped you get your first car.Time to give old Dad a break, but in a few years maybe make some minor mods to his power scooter and don't tell him.The jokes on Dad when he hits the throttle.
Let it go. I'd give anything to be able to take my dad for another ride in my current Vette. He loved riding in my '69 in parades when he was VFW Post Commander. Good times....
