so I just got my vette last week and it's already my BABY...put some new Nitto's on her today and as she was sitting in the driveway, dad decided to hit some golfballs...I knew he wasnt dumb enough to hit any towards the car..im visiting them from atlanta and my sister still live with them..she went out in the yard to talk to him I guess, and dad has a fake plastic golf ball and decided to "play a joke on her" and hit my car with the plastic golfball...they came in laughing about it, I havent even gone outside to look to see if it made a mark...but even if there isnt a mark, am I wrong to be slightly upset about it?? why would he do that?? if he had a vette, I know good and well he would be PISSED if I did that to it..
I took the pic a few minutes before all this happened..
Well, seems like an odd thing for Dad to do, especially if he's a car guy too....
On the other hand, if your gonna drive it, you're gonna get worse than that over time....
o the golf note, I find myself when I go to courses I find a spot in the parking lot away from any holes, driving range or practice greens - - just in case
I would be upset. Everybody I know wouldn't even think of putting a fingerprint on my or anyone else's Corvette, or any car for that matter. It's called having respect for others' property.
It's a plastic golf ball, about as damaging to your Vette as hitting the windshield with a rubber brick. You'll get bird crap and insect guts on the paint that'll do more damage than the plastic golf ball.
Now, if he set it up on a tee and POUNDED it into the car at point-blank range, THERE's a different story. He didn't do that, did he?
Bottom line, throttle back on the emotion a bit. Once people find out you're that easily agitated about the car, they'll start having fun at your expense.
I think the birds flying overhead and having an open roof would do a lot more damage and tick ya off a lot more then a little plastic ball... Maybe he just wants you to take him golfing so he can spend some quality time with you and your car?
I understand the emotion but he's your Dad, he's old and he won't always be around. My dad is 82 and everytime he sees my shiny car, he can't help but run his hand up and down my paint. I don't like anyone fooling with my paint on a dry car, but it can be fixed. Let it go.

Are you wrong to be upset? Yes. He is your Dad....you remember the one who worked to get you the things you needed and wanted...the one who protected, loved, nurtured, and mentored you....so unless your Dad was real SOB and abandoned you at birth to fend for yourself, forget it. Life is short, make the most of it and have a real sense of priorities.
