Hello all! Was driving home last night on the interstate going about 65 mph, no rain, and all of a sudden for no reason the active handleing cycled on for a split second. Was not long enough for the car to react in any way. About 1/2 mile down the road it did it again. Got worried because I have heard stories about stuff like this happening out of no where and people losing control of the car. I turned it off for the ride rest of the way home. What could it be? Bad sensor? ecm? The car is a 02 Z06, 115k, Thanks for the help
Did you feel a jolt when it came on? It happened to mine. It was a failing steering wheel positioning sensor.
I had the same problem - I felt a slight shimmy in the steering wheel, then the msg on the DIC appeared. About a week later, the system went completely bizerk, locked the d/s front brake and almost sent me into a highway divider. I had the steering wheel position sensor replaced, and all has been well.

Too. Steering position sensor (2hr DIY) problem fixed.
Steering angle sensor (common in a few of the GM's).. My Bonneville had a simmilar issue and ended up being a Yaw sensor (funny enough the replacement part number is the same as the vette). both are Likely scan tool should tell you.. If you can unhook the Yaw sensor for now that should disable the cars stability system to let you drive it without worrys... not sure where they hide them on the Vette, but thats what i did with my bonnie.
