WIN!

That is awesome.

All the MANY comments I get on my C5 are from men - women out here only want a pickup or a bus (explains why I have no interest in the women out here as well). I spend half my time on the road cussing pick-up trucks - already had to replace 3 windshields on my C5 from the rock slingers.

If they were needed, I would understand, but I rarely see a pick-up truck with anything in the back (they would not dare haul anything with them) and the women all drive Escalades by themselves through McDonalds alone while dragging seating for 20 behind them! And I am the crazy one.
Funny, but the same thing happened to me after we moved into our current home. I was out washing my vert (then only 2 years old) when some neighbors from down the street were driving by. The husband commented that he really liked my car, while the wife said it's nice but so impractical.

As she drove away in their tricked out Hummer H2 to pick up their dry cleaning and groceries...

Both of those are true statements!

Now an old 40's truck is different!

I don't care what people think I love this car and that is all that matters to me. Just curious if anybody else has heard the same from people.
Why not have both? I just bought a 98 jeep grand cherokee with the intent of using it as a daily driver/beater and something to tinker with:

The difference between the two is astonishing to say the least. First SUV. Corners like a houseboat compared to the vette. Rides like a carpet though...don't feel every bump in the road.

Living in south Florida, major roadways get flooded like this where driving the vette would be a major no-no.

Either way, the fact that you're somehow to fit some stupid stereotype is kind of insulting. I'd have asked that woman why she's not having this conversation with you in the kitchen.

I have had that reaction from 1-2 people. No worry. Just their opinion.

I think that haunted me for a while, so after letting it sit for more days than I drove it, I finally dumped it for a few grand less than what it was worth street value. Ok, I dumped it for alot less than what it was worth!!! That's ok. I just invested that interest into a 2013 C6 Z06.

I still think the Jeep looked bad-***. And my buddy still thinks I was crazy to buy it to begin with.
The jeep looks good and CONGRATS on the Z06! I really want a 2013 427 Vert!

Z71>Raptor

The Raptor looks like it is trying too hard to be cool...

Get one of each. In addition to the vette we have an F150 Supercrew (seats six in comfort and hauls mucho stuff whether groceries, full drywall sheets, lumber or whatnot)--has 155,000 on the odometer. Never have to worry about borrowing or renting a vehicle to haul stuff.

I never got it either especially since I had a truck before I got my Vette.

I have the best of both worlds. I have my C5 and I rent a POS Pickup at Home Depot for $19.95 every 18 months when I need to haul something home that won't fit in the Corvette. Don't have to put up with the inconvenience of driving/parking/maintaining a utility vehicle for the 15 minutes per year I need one!

Can't say I've ever got that reaction to me owning a Vette. Wouldn't matter anyway - I drive what I like and have no need for a truck at this point.
