Ill update this as we go along. Super excited!
Looks good Maxx, when you're done you need to come see us in Dallas.

Drive train is stock. The plan is to send it out to RPM for their rebuild eventually. Until then I'll have to be gentle

Very sweet package! If I can get my wife to understand spending the money on my C5 rather than buying a new car is a better choice, I'm in for the swap. You have one very sweet ride. Can't wait to see the results.
A list of the mods you make when all is done would be helpful. Thanks!

I'm going to hide and watch.
Got my car back from 510 last week. It runs like it stole something.

I'll be dropping it off this WED., we'll see how it turns out. Did you get branded with one of their decals?

To my knowledge they only have one shop which is currently the one in Tomball. I know previously they were at another location elsewhere since the one they are at now is fairly new.

MAXX_Z06...I shudder to think what this whole swap costs, but I'm curious enough to ask. How much? I don't blame you if you don't want to post it online, but if you could PM me or email me (in my profile) the ballpark amount I'd appreciate it.

I'm guessing the valve train work is partly due to the LS7 stock valvetrain having wear issues, and I would do the same if I wind up doing this.

I'll be drooling on this upgrade to my 04 CE...look forward to the pics, and performance numbers, too.

I have no problem sharing info. It is what it is, this is what I wanted to do since the only thing I drool about the C6Z is performance. I love the C5Z body way more than any other vette to this day. I'm not looking to sell my car anytime in the future. That being said take into consideration the many variables. How big exactly do you wanna go? Would you like to use the dry sump oiling or wet sump. For me since the motor is out, I'll knock out what we can to save on future labor cost.

The cost really depends on what deal you get on the LS7. You couldve easily ran an LS7 clutch kit, ignored the LS7 valve guide issue, or install a stock LS7 to save on cost. Out the door as of right for MY setup I'm looking at 15k. This includes new parts and labor plus old parts i sold for extra cash on the build.

At the end of the day in my eyes I'm getting back a fairly brand new car.

Well, the valve guide issue on the stock LS7 was a concern. I'm only going to hook it up to the A4 tranny in the 04 CE, and leave it at that...although a beefing up of the transmission would be wise me thinks.

My 04 only has 31k mileage on it, so it's not a concern right now, but the extra torque from the LS7 is a big draw. Like you I prefer the C5 body style (which is why I have two of them) to the C6 and C7 (yes I said that!). I just like my Vettes with hidden headlights, call me old fashioned.

You must have gotten a really good deal on an LS7, or was it a rebuilt one? That can't be the new crate motor price, then plus upgrades (or can it?) for $15k?

If it is, I'm going to need a list of your suppliers!

Thanks for the reply.

Jim
