The meaner people are to me I like to punish them by being even nicer to them!!!! Wave at him every chance you get..... that just annoys the hell out of them!!!!!
Yep, these are the same drivers that DON'T wave when passing. What is it with these new generation want-to-be Corvette owners?
Hey, I'm keeping the tradition going, WAVE ON!!

It's not just the new generation. I had an older guy in a beautiful vintage Vette pass by me yesterday while I was on a cruise in the Catskills. I'd pulled over to take some shots of my car and he passed, I of course took some pics of him, while waving to him STANDING by my C5. He just motored by with his nose stuck-up (pun intended) in the air.
The link to the pictures is in the Blue Angels thread
That is disappointing.... I've only ownded a Vette for a week now and every Vette owner I have passed on the road waves. It's great! I love dirving this car.
You guys need to get a LIFE, if the dude doesn't want to wave, MOVE ON. I rarely wave, think it's kind a a PAIN in the A $ $ most times, almost as bad as when I'm on the motorcycle with the waving.

That's fine out on the road among strangers, but not for a neighbor on your own street to never acknowledge you, even once.
I was driving into town today and I'm sitting in the turning lane at a red light when this super shiny Black Vette passes by and he blows his horn to say hi!! I was so stunned I didn't have time to react before he was out of sight. I did get a partial license A K but that's all I could see before he was gone. First time I've had another Vette owner give me a honk with the horn. On my way home I met a bright yellow Vette stopped at a red signal. The car was unfamiliar but had flames painted all over the sides and hood. I waved at him but was gone before I could tell if he returned the greeting. Nice car though.
I guess to each his own, I try to get to know my neighbors that are close to me regardless of what kind of car they drive, I just assumed when I saw that he drove a Vette that we would be sociable, but after running into some of the personalities on this forum I should have know that that was not a given. I know y'all know what I mean.
I know how I would handle it, since he is a neighbour. Rather than speculating why he is the way he is, I would find out for certain. I would wait until he was outside doing yard work (hopefully with his wife present), and would just march over there and introduce yourself, "Hi, I'm Xxxx your neighbour from across the street and a fellow Corvette owner." Most people even if miserable want to appear decent if approached.
Then tell him cheerfully, "I've waved many times, but never seen you wave back. You obviously are not familiar with Corvette culture and etiquette. Ownership of a Corvette obligates you to wave to other Corvette owners. It's part of the history, DNA, and culture of owning one. You are obligated to wave (said enthusiastically with a big smile)!" If the conversation goes well, offer to help him. You may just become the one friend on the street he has now.
You will either find that he is a regular guy and now waves to you or really is a jerk. And by all means hold that get together. Heck, I'd come if I wasn't 3 days away!
From: Dear Karma, I have a list of people you missed.

In this case it is less about a wave or a Corvette and mostly about being a dick in general. I am not sure where the OP is located but here in the South we greet people with a wave or a word as a general courtesy and respectful acknowledgment of one's presence. It is very easy to return a wave or a "Hello." To not do so after another has extended the same is to basically say "F OFF." So, yeah, when someone says F Off it is kind of personal.

If some JO did this to me, I'd run him off my property with a sledgehammer. Nobody is obligated to wave to ANYONE.
Some people just learn to not trust anyone, or choose to just be miserable.
Id continue to wave, say Hi when able and always be who you are not him. At some point he will come around, maybe the neighbors all have given up, instead of pushing through and being consistent.
He could be a former military man who's seen some bad ****. Just never know.
I guess I look at life from a far different angle. If you were broke down on the side of the road i would be the first to stop and offer assistance.
2 completely different things. The whole wave thing is silly. Just because I buy the same car/truck/bike as you, does not obligate me to wave at you every time we meet.
