I'm not one to really complain much, but as some of y'all may know I recently moved to the Gulf Coast (Mississippi) crazy as it sounds my wife found our house and I was very happy with her choice, after moving from Texas I was of course missing friends and such, But after getting moved and all I soon realized that of the four houses around me 2 were Corvette owners, (both C-6) one guy is awesome, we sit around on occasion talking cars and having a cold beer a real car guy, but the other that lives across from me, no matter what I do will not even acknowledge I'm on the same planet, I know it's not a big deal, but like today, I passed him as I leave my house in the vette ( he was in his) I waved like I always do, he looked at me like I was out of my mind, I know from talking to my other neighbor that this is his 4th or 5th vette, I mean what the hell, I am the kind of guy that will give you the shirt off my back, but I'm not sure if I'm mowing my grass on the wrong day or what. It's just disappointing that a fellow vette owner acts like this.
Sorry to rant guys it just blows my mind that someone that owns a vette can be so unfriendly.
just disappointing

Unfortunately there's no requirement that you bee a decent person in order to buy a Vette. There's also no magic in them to make people into decent, congenial people. You'll find azzholes in Corvettes just like you will find them anywhere else. Don't believe me? Checkout CFOT sometime.
Dont worry man, he won't be the first or last corvette owner who treats you like that. For some reason there's a few out there. I myself have encountered quite a few guys who just didn't understand the corvette code. They act mainly cocky or unfriendly. There will be more people who you will meet with a vette who are just like you. Don't let one of the bunch bother you.
It's a fact there will be ***holes no matter what they may or may not drive. So lets look at this another way..... Have you and the misses wandered over and introduced yourselves and offer a casserole?

Honestly we have not, but while outside I've all but walked over to help with yard work, my other neighbor has told me that he is not the most friendly person around, I was trying to pass the word that we all get together to go hang put one afternoon or evening just to get to know each other and enjoy the cars and such.
No response (yet)
Of well I may need to put a Corvette Forum flyer in his mailbox
I'm going with the grass idea! Do you have a striper for your mower? You could be cutting it too short? Your dog doesn't crap in his yard surely??? Just thinking out loud here. Only other possible reason I can think of for this type of behavior,,,, your wife is better looking!!!
I know this guy; he has lived in every neighborhood I have ever lived in as well. Unfortunately @@@holes come in every color, race, religion, and yes even Corvette owners. You should get the friendly neighbor to introduce you to other Corvette owners, or seek out a local Corvette club and invite a bunch over to your place for a cook out or just a BS session. Fill your driveway with ‘Vettes. And if Mr. Wonderful doesn’t come over then don’t sweat it as you will have made a number of new ‘Vette friends anyway. And if he does wander over, then just tell him the get together was by invitation only and you purposely left off the @@@holes. NOT, just kidding, invite him and his wife over and tell him there is always room for another Corvette owner.
Your problem is simple. You have a C5. He is envious. C5s look better. That or he thinks C5 owners are 2nd class. Either way who needs him. It's not like you drive a Rustang or something. There is a C6 owner near here like that. If I am in my C5 when I run into him he ignores me. If in my C6 he comes over and talks to me. I think he's too stupid to know it's the same guy.
It probably has nothing to do with the car that you or he drives.
Be over the top friendly and most of all be a great neighbor. Become the neighbor that he knows he can count on even if he doesn't reciprocate. You will probably be neighbors for at least a few years and in the end not only will you be the better person for it, you may actually gain a friend.

Some people just want to be left alone, Is that wrong of him? I don't think so, Just the way it is, If I were you I wouldn't change my ways, I would still wave at him, If you are a friendly guy why change? Maybe he might just surprise you some day.

Sometimes things are just beyond your control so no sense worrying about it. If the guy wants to be a jerk, you're probably better off not knowing him.
