Default 6 SPD Trans question

My 03 Z seems to bite a little when shifting from first too second in the morning. It seems after everything warms up it shifts smooth as glass.
Is this normal?

I just replaced the fluid with Royal Purple syncro max it seemed to help a little.
The problem was pre-existing before the fluid change.

Mine does the same thing, when the car is cold the first time through the gears is a bit sluggish, the 1-2 is the most noticable. Goes away after a minute or two of driving. This is with fresh m1 in trans & diff and clean fluid in the clutch cylinder. Its on the original clutch (40k) I would think a new clutch would make a difference. Its nothing major though as it goes away pretty quick after startup.

Yeah that's what I thought. I just was wondering if other guys had the same thing going on.

Thanks

I've had the same issue ever since I bought the car over 5 years ago, but it's only noticeable when the overnight temps are below 50 degrees or so. And here in Houston, that's not very often...

Yup, that sounds normal........my '07Z shifts just a bit sluggish when I first start out, but after a few minutes it feels fine. I just take it easy and try not to force anything when starting out............
