Coming on base last week, I had a young Security Forces Airman, look in my car a bust out laughing because my coupe was an automatic. After he handed my ID back, I asked him what he drove? He answered with a smug grin, "my roommate has a mustang". I smiled, winked and asked, how's that working for you? Then I drove off.
I have a story like this almost every day. either BS from owners or unrealistic knowledge of Corvettes. I stopped to get something to eat today, One of the workers, a guy about 25 or 30 said, That's a beautiful Z06. I said it wasnt a Z06, the next words out of his mouth was Oh its a C6.. I said NO.. its a C5 , he response was Oh !.

I was at a mixed car cruise when someone told me my C5 had aftermarket paint because GM did not offer MSG in 2004 and that Cyber Gray was the 2004 GM color that carried into the C6 run. Here's a good one not in my C5, went to a car show in the ZR-1 parked next to a reg C4 was looking at it and it had a ZR-1 emblem on the rear the owner was telling me all about it. Than we walked over to look at my car first thing he ask is how did I get that motor in mine. After I told him he packed up his stuff and left....
