I just bought the hyper flash harnass but can return it.
I could just replace the hazard switch.
That was my first idea but I saw a thread where hyper flash solved the problem with brake light that dont work but third light does.
Oh well
So.....new hazard switch.
Should I go oem or other.. And is the center console removal radio removal method to access the switch the best way.
My tail lights go out intermittently.
Everything else works.
No leds
Playing with the switch I guess helps at times
Somewhere in these Forums is a simple method to R&R the hazard switch - claimed to take only 18 Minutes...... found it:
We all know about that, old news. Having done the removal (myself) it may work. As he says, apparently his was never installed correctly. Myself, if I am going to HAMMER on my dash I want to do it in a thoughtful way.
OK , no problem if you want the most difficult method: removing the entire dash pad, not just the console.
If I had not already removed my radio, I would have just bought a used hazard switch harness to relocate the switch. This only requires the knee bolster removal and about $20for a used harness.
Having relocated my switch, I (whomever) can now replace the hazard switch in the future in 30 seconds, no knee bolster removal required.
Replaced flasher and added hyperflash harness for future LEDs....
Be patient getting the hazard switch out and in.
Work it from both front and back.
Brake lights are back...All is well
No need to remove the radio...go under the dash as suggested

Can you believe the problem is back...
Or maybe never fixed....
is it possible for the hazard flasher to have gone bad again???
Anyway i ordered a used harness for the flasher...Should have listened the first time.
And am converting the euro lights back to stock..

If you want to PM your phone number to me we can discuss what problems you are having. I can help you identify what is the problem with a few simple tests. No disassembly required or Volt/Ohm meter either.

The splice off the high mount tail light was faulty.
Caused brake lights to fail intermittently..
Getting it out was not as difficult as I thought. I just pulled the radio/AC bezel out, and then took the radio out. From there I could get to the bottom locking tab of the old switch. I pushed up on that tab with a flat head screwdriver, and got the switch cockeyed, where the bottom tab up and orientated towards the front of the car (unlocked) and the top was not - yet. Stuck that same flat head screwdriver in on top and pushed down on the switch (being careful not to push it hard enough to lock the bottom tab back in. I then took a bigger flat head screwdriver..this could have been anything really..just something to push..and whacked the front of the switch towards the front of the car (into the dash). The old one popped out.
I then worked the switch down to the radio area where I could get some get it of an put the new one on. It was tricky getting the new switch maneuvered back into position, and a little more difficult to get the required pressure to the rear of it to push it towards me to lock it in, but I got it. Then just put the radio back in and good to go.
Does the hazard switch button just pull off with small screwdriver or what, after that does console have to come out to get radio bezel off. Thanks
You can use this method if you are patient.
Pop off the bolster and hazard switch button cover and work it out from the rear...There are other methods too,,,,

If you want to fix a Hazard switch problem, call me and I will walk you through ALL the options and even two that no one ever discusses. If you don't have my number anymore let me know.
I have a 03 Z06 after replacing 2 many parts I found where the fix for me was. on the frame rail back of the right rear wheel there is a plug or connector that I unplugged an inspected look ok but when I plugged it back in the stop lights have been working for 2 years now.
I don't have a picture of that connector but that is C400. Power to ALL the rear lights goes thru it. Then all the grounds for those rear lights goes back thru it (now only one wire due to a splice pack) and then that one wire actually goes to the chassis ground.
Here is a link that has a picture that might help.
hello I have a 94 and the brake lights are not working or the third brake light I pulled the brake light switch is out and could not find the plug for the switch with the vacuum on it but the other one was plugged in even if I jump the wires I still did not get brake lights
