Default Dic fading

Hi all.
My dic has faded so I can barely see it and only at night.
When I start the car it seems bright but fades after a few minutes. Dash dimmer control has no affect.
I've seen this discussed but no answer to the issue. Any bright ideas.
She's an 04 vert.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like the same issue that plagues our HVAC displays; bad solder joints. I would pull the cluster and have a close look around for rings around any of the solder connections around the display. I have fixed many automotive modules and most are related to this, especially since yours starts out bright.

Sounds like a personal problem! Some Viagra should help that!

Good advice and that would be a place to start in trying to fix the problem.
