I've always loved the blacked out look. I've been looking at Black wheels to update my Z06 with, and the more I look the more undecided I am on which ones to get. Flat black, gloss black, gun metal... Part of the problem is not seeing them actually on the car, I think seeing them on cars would help. If you have these color/style wheels on your car lets see them!
It makes your car look like you have high-profile tires with no distinction between the tire and the rim. Soon J.C.Whitney will be selling black rims, then you'll know they're done. I don't know why people spend big bucks on wheels and then hide them with black paint.
I had black "Classics" with polished rims on my car years ago, and I kind of miss the look now. The ones that really look good (black car) to me are '09Z Spiders, in gloss black, with a red pinstripe. If I didn't love my iForge wheels so much, that'd be the way I'd go. The polished rim black center wheels look better on EB, or silver, IMO. Red, yellow, and especially black look better with all black, with or w/o a contrasting pinstripe. As with everything that's subjective, it's all personal taste. I also prefer chrome/polished wheels on the Lemans blue.
not lowered yet...but heres my 19/20 360 forged mesh 10
Nice! That's what I was saying. The red stripe looks great with the red calipers, and I also have red accents in the interior. Painted wheels are easier to clean versus polished/chrome. All those spokes make for a little more work, but they sure look good.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but mine have been on for over 5 years and I chose them because they don't show brake dust near as bad since my car gets driven hard, not just to car shows
