What I would do is relocate the sender so next time you can change it in 5 mins.

You say you had an arc, I would take the door apart and see what is causing it for sure, Something isn't right.

Thanks for info.
I like the O'riley you tube fix,
I don't see getting my hand in there, unless I move some things.
not sure about removing manifold.
Whats my best choice?
Thanks

Like I said above, Remove the intake, It is really easy and install the relocation kit.
In my opinion this is the correct way to do it.

Your right, But I would rather call it the correct way rather the Purist way, I can see doing it with a socket, But I always recommend the relocation kit to save time in the future and I also think the heat from the block has an effect on the sender, Just my opinion, I would never cut a hold in any case.

Just put the oil sending unit in, it works.
I went ahead and cut the hole, I did not feel comfortable pulling the intake. Thanks everyone for the help and input.I have some thin gauge aluminum and will paint flat back on both sides, double stick tape and a little black silicone.
Thanks again and keep on posting, have a great weekend.
Instead of the double stick tape, I used 3" foil tape on the inside, with silicone underneath, taped it down flat. Painted tape first.
