First year always the hardest??
This is the question.....is the first year the hardest to say NO beautiful FRC C5 I will not drive you today to work...I will take the Altima coupe. I found it very hard over the first year. I bought my 2000 FRC 6 spd with 114,000 miles on it from someone getting deployed by the Navy for $10,000. Maybe I rushed and didn't know what I was looking for just yet, I definetly got lucky though. I ended up with most of the options I would have wanted had I researched a little more. After putting about $8,000 in the car after the mod bug bit me, I realized I had obtained 1 of my goals. Do NOT rack up a ton of miles!!!!! I had actually managed to only put 4,000 miles on it in my first year.

I dont know why you dont want to put miles on. I thought we bought these cars because they were fun to drive and brought joy to our lives. I dont care if the next person gets a low mile car. I buy cars for me to have fun. Low miles is way over rated if you ask me. If it is nice out I drive it every chance I get. Every time someone tells me they have low miles like it is a cool thing I tell them they wasted there time and money. Up to you though.
I dont mean any of this in a negative way, I just want you to realize you should be enjoying you car as much as you can. Time is short.
For me the answer is: its always hard to say no to driving a vette on a nice day.

So you're trying to preserve a car that already has "high miles" to the average Corvette enthusiast? I don't understand. If you never drive it and force yourself to take another car, why did you mod it? Sounds like you are depriving yourself for no reason at all and seem proud or it for some reason.

Easy guys, I love driving my car. I just didnt wanna put another 40,000 miles on it in the first year I got it. My altima is a 2008 and has 186,000 miles on it because work is 6 days a week sometimes 7 and a 40 minute drive one way.

Maybe come up with a plan for a "replacement mod fund". For things like new bushings and anything that can be pulled off and replaced relatively cheap that needs it.

Lowest # of miles reported on a C5 was 3,325 and the highest 266,000, both on 02s.

I'm currently not at my new assignment yet so I am office bound. 45 minutes one way. Everyday 5 days a week. In the Vette. If I'm not on a jobsite, I don't need a truck. Best commuter I have ever owned. looks good fun to drive and currently, the top is down both ways.

I have no plans to ever sell it so I drive like I own it.
I gave my oldest daughter my 2003 Monte Carlo for her 16th birthday and have driven only my Corvette since the day I bought it. There's simply nothing else to compare to it. I'm not scared of getting it wet so rain or shine, if I'm headed somewhere I'm going there in style.

Give it up man - - drive that thang!!
I've got a 77 I was the same way with way back when, still have it, with only 42k on the clock - - however, other priorities have left it in need of a restoration, so now I have a low mileage project car....
Not gonna happen with my C5, fair weather daily driver, some track time every year and getting ready to throw a A&A kit on it....
I'm using this one up.....
