Excellent choice (I may be biased), there are a few of us LPM verts on the forum. I preceded you down your road somewhat as I first fell in love with Corvettes with the '63 split window coupe. After 20 years of ownership I am now on my third but first convertible. I keep it in the garage with top down mostly when not on the road.
Not sure I agree with VETJAZZ about BSM removal. My first C5 was without and that was a minor criteria when shopping. With this latest car, I knew from this forum that BSM removal was a possibility and it left the criteria list all together. Now, three months down the road, I'm not so sure it would be worth the time and effort. They have kind of grown on me and I'm not hating them anymore anyhow.
Congratulations, and many happy miles, smiles and waves.
Thanks for all the well wishes. The car had under 33,000 mi on it and remarkably few scratches and chips. Mostly flawless paint for a 12-year old. After detailing and shining I took some photos in the garage—little grainy due to low light. But you can see the shine. The reflection on the rear is my bike with towel on handlebar silhouetted against an open door and window. Let the mods begin!
The one weird thing was when I was under the front checking the skid plates and I looked up towards the rad. The top 5" was totally clogged with packed straw and dried glass. It looked like someone tried to drive though a hay bail! It took quite a while to carefully clean the stuff out.

Nice ride. I just got my first Corvette a couple of weeks ago.
Like yours, my radiator was clogged with junk. I used an air hose set to ~50psi to blow out the junk. Car runs cooler now.
Don't forget to 'milk' your udders. The front two on mine were pretty clean, but the back one which is harder to reach was full of junk.
This is the only place I can say that I am smitten over this car..
I actual blush when I look at her..
Went to look at a winter storage unit today for her..
Can't do it..
She can stay home ..My other car will sit on the driveway.
Maybe next year..
