First Corvette, first week.
One week ago I picked her up, my first Corvette! The first time I saw a Corvette was in 1963 and a fellow high-school student got to drive a new split-window. He later quit school to work in the trades and bought a Sting Ray (circa '64-'65). Here 50 years later, I am now owning a Corvette!
Wanted yellow, but decided I like Pewter Metallic! I found out after I bought her, that she has the 1SC package and 3.15 performance gearing (auto). Lucked into that.
Returning from the 4 hour drive to pick her up, I needed fuel. At the gas bar a beautiful black BMW was next to me. "Nice car" I thought.
A young woman was driving it and after eyeing the Vette several times said, "I love your car!"
That made my day!
Two days later my son (motorcycle enthusiast) from Chicago was visiting and I took him for a ride (always with top down). As we were driving, another vette was heading towards us and both of us enthusiastically waved at the same time. Son said, "Is this a Corvette thing?"
"Yup… mandatory!"
I've been detailing, and after clay bar and two-part Klasse, I just love running my fingers over her soft sensuous curves. So smooth it feels like liquid metal turned solid! I sometimes just stand and stare at her voluptuousness. The C5 has to be one of the most gorgeous designs in automotive history. Her curves are so subtle, so beautiful!

Congrats and enjoy. I'm fairly new (less than a year) to Corvette ownership and I LOVE my car. Also, this forum is a great source for whatever you want to know about your car. Pay special attention to Mr. Bill and Evil Twin amongst others. Can't forget Vetteman Jack (all class). Welcome to the club.

And pay no attention to the BSM antis, you know what they say about opinions. But the only one that counts is the one who paid for the car. Different things look good to different people, thank gawd!
