cat pups

I have a 01 would it help if i take off the pups??? would i gain anything or do i have to do headers to feel anything>>any throughs :chevy

I gutted mine out and the sound is improved at part to WOT. Might have gained a few BHP. They only work when the car is cold so it should not effect you emissions testing at all. My car has a bit more burrble when letting off the gas, another guys car we did it to does not have the burrble.

I had mine cut out and replaced with a straight pipe.Without a doubt a throatier sound and a little louder.

take the entire intermediate pipe out.....take a crow bar or the like.....a hammer and BEAT the guts out of them....be sure they are tipped upside down so the sHeeot that ya knock out falls out and doesnt clog up the big cats that are down stream of the pups

I did it on my Z06 after teh h/c install....i already had B&B shorties....I would guess it may add 3 to 5 rwhp on a stock car.....free tho :yesnod:
