If you have the key fob with the little slider switch to turn on the passive feature then it might be acting up or you just have the transmitter with you and too close to the car when you move around the house. I had a '99 with that fob and it did the same thing at times.

Its a 2002 don't see a switch on fob I do hang key and fob on nail aside of corvette but this didn't happen before
My 02 Explorer is doing that and getting worse and no one knows for sure what does it but alot of them do it. I cant even lock it any more. Good luck and I hope some one here helps you out.
