That m#@@#%^$@$% squeek!
I have had a squeek in my 02 vert for at least 7 years and 50k miles. It drives me crazy. Sounds like plastic rubbing on plastic.
Sometimes it does it all the time, no matter road conditions, brakes or no brakes, accel or decel, and left or right. I spent many hours taping all things, wiggling other things, and looking all over the car. Can't find anything. Tried sticking my head over in the passenger side to see where it's coming from, and no luck, can't tell.
Sometimes, this squeek is gone and I think I fixed it somehow, but then it's back.
Been driving me nuts!
THEN: Today, I am getting groceries out of the trunk, and there it is!
The after market partition rubs on the plastic on the inside of the trunk.
Took out the partion and the squeek is gone. Finally!

could be the targa roof latch upfront. The bolts can be loosened and adjust the latch that's part of the car. Had a crazy sound for a long time sounded like it was coming from the dash area but adjusting the latch fixed it. good luck

7 years and just like that now your life is changed forever. Makes me wonder if you'll put the partition back so your life will be normal again.
I live with all my squeaks and rattles, life's too short to be bothered by the little things.

Seven years is a long time to live with a squeak in the car. Congrats on finally getting it found and being able to enjoy the peace and quiet.
