Hello everyone. Just joined the Forum recently right before buying my 2002 Z06. Lots of good infos on here so that you can make an intelligent decision before buying. Stickies are a must for anyone buying a car.
I have a small problem with the driver side door lock and DIC settings.
First when using the FOB to arm the car, horn and lights go on normally but my driver side lock does not lock. The passsenger side locks normally. I just lock manually my side before getting out of the car and use the FOB. When I click on the FOB to unlock the doors, both doors unlock. So basically driver side door does not lock automatically but unlocks normally.
That's one glitch.
The second glitch is that I programmed the DIC to lock both doors after the car reaches a certain speed. I seem to remember that it's 16mph. Anyway, nothing happens when I reach that speed.
Wonder if it could be a defective fuse? Is it not the same fuse for driver and passenger locks?
If anyone has any suggestions or it happened to them and found a solution, please let me know. Thanks.
Likely a problem inside the door itself, (dirty solenoid?) but you've got me on this one. The lock button on the door panel works ok? If the door is locked and you remove the key does it unlock automatically after you shut the engine off?
That's one of the things that I do DISLIKE about these cars; too many damn gadgets. My '99 has those crappy passive remotes with the on/off switch; of course neither of them work. I tried setting the door lock settings with the DIC, and didn't have any luck there either. So, I just do it the old fashioned way, and open my doors with the (gasp) KEY! I just leave the doors unlocked, then I either use the door button or reach over and manually lock them; no biggie.

No, the lock button does not lock the car on the driver's side. I have to manually push on the lock to lock it.
It does not unlock automatically because I don't have it set to unlock automatically when I shut off the engine. I want to open the lock when am ready to come out.
Could it just be that the lock needs to be lubrified since the car was not used frequently before I bought it?

That's what I do also since it's not important. I just lock the car manually. then once am out I just use the FOB to set the alarm. For some reason it opens both door locks when I click on the FOB and am ready to go in the car.
