I have lost both my keys for my C5 and have got a new key sent to me and have obtained the ignition code and Vat code from GM. I am however in New Zealand and we don't have dealers in NZ. I need to get my key cut and am wondering if anyone knows where I can get a diagram of some sorts for this key with the ignition code and VATs code.

I'm sure someone here would get one done for you if you can't get a local locksmith to figure out the GM codes for you. I know that GM has products in Australia, so maybe a quick boat trip is in order.
No chevy dealers but there have to be good locksmiths, that info should be available somewhere online. You can trial and error (once you think you figured it out) cutting regular (one dollar) chevy keys with no pellet, they will still open the door so you will know when you have the right settings, then cut the blank with the pellet.
Im sure you re going to find a solution, but if you don't, PM me and as a last resort you can send me the info and there has to be an easy way for me to have keys done.
BTW
1) I have a C5
2) Im not a part of an international car theft ring that specializes in ten year old cars.
3) If I do every come to NZ, I will look you up and ask you prior to taking your car for a ride.
If you can obtain the code for the resister pack (VAT code), I'm sure Gene Culley , or another GM vender here in the states would be happy to sell you a properly coded key blank, and any competent locksmith should be able to cut the correct key for your.
The idea of cutting a inexpensive, non VAT coded key to open the door, is a great way to test the 'notch' cuts, then you'll be confident the more expensive properly coded VATS key will cut properly.
FWIW, several vendors on E-bay sell the GM key blanks, you'll just need the proper 'VATS' code that can be derived from your VIN, and make the purchase.
Thanks guys. a local locksmith was able to cut a normal key first from the code which I tested and then got the full key cut.
Thanks for your suggestions.
Basically you need the newer fobs, the newer TPMS receiver, the TPMS wire harness and 4 of the newer TPMS modules that you program to the new TPMS receiver BEFORE you have a tire shop mount/install them in your wheels.
It's not a completely simple conversation and you'll need to source some parts but it is well worth the swap in the end.
Hit me up if you're serious and I'll help look for the parts needed online as they're not manufactured any longer and you'll need a donor car
