Good info on update to 2001 version Tire Pressure Sensors
I have figured it out and the answer is yes, you can do it. Here is the story.
I have a 2000 model convertible.
Friend has a 2002 model coupe.
The wiring from the receiver module is the same on both but the connector plug is different. 2000 has an 8 pin flat connector. 2002 (2001 to 2004) has a 4 pin flat connector.
The wiring/connector on the 2000 is:
A - Orange
B - Not used
C - Not used
D - Pink
E - Not used
F - Not used
G - Black w/ white stripe
H - Not used
The wiring/connector on the 2002 is not labeled but looking at the connector on the receiver w/ the two alignment tabs up and assuming the left most pin is A:
A - Black w/ white stripe
B - Not used
C - Pink
D - Orange
We jumpered the wires from my connector to his receiver module in the proper order and:
I was able to program his 2002 key fob to work my car.
I was able to program his wheel sensor to work on my car (his car was setting right next to mine).
Based on this info I ordered the following parts from gmpartsdirect:
25773946 tire pressure indicator sensor, 2001-2004 - $36.32 4 each required.
10312535 remote control door lock receiver, 2001-2004 - $67.01
25695954 un-programmed remote control door lock transmitter, fob 1, 2001-2004 - $41.04
25695955 un-programmed remote control door lock transmitter, fob 2, 2001-2004 - $41.04
Total cost w/ shipping and handling is $348.25
I received the parts and this weekend was able to jumper the pins to the new receiver module and program both key fobs and the wheel sensors to my car.
I am going to be putting chrome wheels and new tires on in a few weeks. Will be using the new parts at that point.
For the price of 4 new 97-00 tire pressure sensors I now have four new style sensors and 2 new key fobs.
Plus maybe I can sell the old parts and get some of my money back.
When I go to actually install the new receiver, I will take some pics and post to show how I jumpered the wires.
Update: How to connect.
1. Remove the white retainer from the back side of the connector by prying up on the housing where the two tabs are located.
2. Take a very small flat blade jewelers screwdriver (smallest one you can get) and insert at the top front of the socket. This will push down the retainer tab on the top of the socket and allow you to pull out the wire and socket from the housing.
3. Take each socket and bend the top down to make the hole smaller and test to see that it is now tight on the pin of the new receiver.
4. Take small shrink tubing and shrink over the socket so it won't short out.
5. Install the sockets on the pins of the new receiver.
6. Using electrical tape - tape everything up and good and tight.
Now you can slip the new receiver back up in the spot where the old one came from. You may have to play with it but it will hold in place once you get it in the right location.
No pics yet but will when I do install the new rims and finish the job.

Do you also need a connector for the later model receiver?

Good info, that confirmes it, thanks! If the pins are flat, a small pick or straightned out paper clip pushed in to release the tab. If the pins are round, I think Radio Shack has the tool to release the pins. HTH

Connector question
Having the 01-04 connector would be nice. I guess you could get one from a junk yard (have the guy cut the wires back enough to splice them) if he is willing to destroy the wiring harness.
My plan was to remove the wires/sockets from the existing connector, wrap with electrical tape, insert onto the pins of the new receiver, tape up.

There is a guy on eBay that used to sell this same thing as a kit, including the two fobs, for a lot less than $350.

Good to know and thanks for answering the question. A lot of guys have been trying to find out the answer to that one.
That was the Euro version that works at a different frequency. Last time I saw a kit on E Bay he'd realized there was more profit in it and the rice had gone up. Not sure if you can order the Euro through Forum vendors. Best keep it quiet though. The frequency allocator police will chase you as its probably against federal standards.

In apost dated 7/12/08 forum member c5streak posted there is a connector part #12126438 keyless entry control black,8way, w/leads. I am not sure if this is what you need but this is TPMS related.

That part number is an 8 pin connector. It is:
ACDELCO Part # PT709 {8-WAY FEMALE BLACK #12126438, 15306100, PT1261}
CONNECTOR,SW-TRFER CASE SEL EXTENDED CAB; 4 WHEEL DRIVE
CONNECTOR,SW-TRFER CASE SEL CREW CAB; 4 WHEEL DRIVE
Part of a MC Sierra 3500 transfer case.
What we need is the 4 pin connector for the new receiver.
But I have figured out how to get the sockets out of the connector and they will fit on the new pins.
Will post all the details when I actually do it.

I'm running a 1999 complete aft harness in my 2002 Z06
I also sold the '99 FRC with the 2002 harness
As you mentioned, the ONLY change I did was swap the fob box connector
Now I have the factory 12disc changer wired in the 2002 Z06
NOTE: don't bother trying to DE-PIN, the pins are different sizes, just snip the 3 wires, you can't screw up the colors

TPMS sensors
Costco is a large wholesale membership business a la Sams Club, for whoever said they had not heard of it. FYI, the Costco warehouse here in Northern VA just started handling TPMS service in their tire operation. The manager was aware of VIN-specific sensors for the corvette, so "fitment" should not be an issue. Based on their satisfaction guarantee, and reputable vendor, i.e., Shrader, I'm willing to give them a try.

TPMS sensors
According to my customer service contact at Schrader, the part/model number for the 2000 sensor is 28006. I've asked him to verify that this is a good number for the entire model year.

I am interested in your old 97-00 sensors. Also if you can post some pics I will look into getting some connectors (plug and play) to get the new recievers to work with our 97-00 ones...

This is awesome! Just picked up some rims & tires with 01-04 sensors already installed. I ordered and just received the 10312535 (01-04) receiver today and was dismayed to see that the connector was not the same. with this info I should be able to make it work. now I just have to decide how it want to handle adapting the connector. If you get a chance to post pictures that would be greatly appreciated.

Update the top post to indicate how to get the sockets out of the connector housing and use on the new receiver.
Once you start the process it should be obvious how to proceed.
