Forged wheel repair
I picked up a set of HRE 540's recently and they need a little attention. Over all the rims ate clean with only light curb rash, my concern is a small flat spot on on rim. I'd say on a 1 to 10 is only a 1 but before mounting tires I'd like to have it right. Can a local good wheel shop repair be trusted? I'm in Houston. If they use heat will it cause any damage or weakening of the rim? Trufully I'm good with my hands and have considered trying myself but could use a little knowledge about what might to expect. Any thoughts, the average person most likle wouldn't notice it but you can see it and feel it.

Isn't this a 3 piece wheel? Why not call HRE and see if they can fix it (as opposed to replace the rim half? Maybe you could take the wheel apart and just send the one half (assuming only one half is damaged)....

Called HRE, they will replace but would have to ship the wheel to them. By the time it's said and done 350- 400$. Found a place recomended on this forum here in Houston that's done lots of work on forged multiple piece wheels, ill see what they have to say tomorrow.
