I used to have a Belkin vent mount kit that had a magnet on the vent piece, and a small metal plate that attaches to the phone with adhesive tape. Unfortunately, the vent mount broke, so I am in the market for something.
Has anyone come across a gooseneck-type windsheeld mount that work in a C5? All the ones I have come across are not nearly long enough for the C5 windshield slope, let alone the distance needed so that you can comfortably reach the phone.
Some say the suction cup can stick to the top of the dash, but I highly doubt that it actually works on the material of a dashboard, never mind a countoured dash.
It's not exactly what you are looking for as it's not a windshield mount, but love my Pro Clip mounting system. I use one in my C5 and my daily driver. You buy the vehicle specific mount then you buy the specific phone mount. When you change phones you just have to change the phone mount part.
The best mount I've found for my smart phone is the double din Bezel that houses my Blue tooth Nav and head units which supports my smart phone. its so convenient, I don't have to touch anything. I can get phone calls with auto pick up, make phone calls with just a voice command, send texts, and get email notifications, all hands free. The actual phone never leaves the holster.
The point I was making is that in the last 12 years I've had 6 cell phones and as many different cell phone mounts. None of which were as convenient as having the phone built right into the radio with the added convenience of hands free and audible commands.
I've been really pleased with the Aduro U-GRIP PLUS universal mount on my DD, fully adjustable. I have it mounted to my dash. It has a unique suction cup that appears to have some adhesive of some sort.
"Patented Suction Technology sticks to most dashboards and doesn't let go in any weather condition, hot or cold."
I plan on trying it in my Z, it should work fine.
I like the grips being centered, as my phone has volume buttons on the right near the top, the charging port on the left near the bottom, and the phones jack on the top left, so that looks like it would work as far as grip placement. Please let me know after you try it in your C5, and go over some bumpy roads.

I have the Pro Clip and it works great - you can get one specifically made for the C5 and your phone , IPOD / MP3 device or GPS !! The base unit attaches to the side of the radio / a/c bezel and the actual holder screws into the base - i also added the piece so i can swivel it to my desired position - holds my IPOD Touch firmly and the fit is perfect. Like said above if you change phones you can purchase a holder for the new phone that will attach to the base / swivel and u r back in business. Easy to install- I have had mine a couple years and am very happy with it !!
Here's a link to their website click on the video for the 2 part system - it shows how the system works
ok call me a sucker but I bought this at Walgreens for about 15.00 and love it I mount it under my mirror in the vette and in the corner of my Pick-up and it works great.

Just tried out the Aduro U-GRIP in my Z06. I'm lowered on Pfadt coilovers so my ride is a little stiff. The Aduro worked great. In fact, for $20, I'm going to buy a couple more for my other cars. The suction cup design is unique with some kind of sticky quality to it.

I had a similar single-din head unit installed the day after I bought my car. Messing with a phone for anything while driving is extremely dangerous. Bluetooth and hands-free is the only safe way to use a cell phone while driving.
I have a Bluetooth HU but I still just put the phone in the crappy stock cup holder.
I had a suction cup phone holder that worked great but it always felt in the way, and unless I'm using the GPS on the phone (like a garmin) I really don't need it on the dash. Sometimes I just leave the phone in my pocket for short drives.
