I just took my C5 out of storage. I'm getting three warnings (service ABS, Service Traction Control, and Service Active Steering) that rotate on the DIC.
Until I can get it repaired, is there a way to stop the warnings on the DIC? It gets very distracting.
Before I stored the car the repair cost was a little over $4,000. Now several years later Corvette Mikes is going to repair it for $750.
Corvette Mikes said there is a module that is causing the problem. Evidently, Chevy doesn't make a replacement so he sends the unit out to be repaired. The process takes several days.

Like I said, In most cases absfixer can fix them for 150 bucks, I had mine done years ago and still working great, There are a lot of members with a 2001-04 that have used absfixer with great results. Not sure who Corvette Mike is, But for 750 vs 150, That would be an easy choice for me. What codes are you getting?

He's probably sending it to ABSFixers and charging you a $600 markup for R&R.

I wanna take my car to corvette mikes.
In any event most 2001 to 2004 cars can be fixed by abs fixers for $150.
97 to 2001 cars can't be fixed by abs fixers. Chuck CoW was reporting to be able to fix the these older units, but I'm not sure what the result ended up being as far as a success rate. What I'm getting at is if Chuck can't do it corvette mike sure cant

I'm not home this weekend but I'll check my codes when I get back.
Where is the module located that you send in? If the vendor is fixing it for $150 and the shop is charging $750, I'd like to see if I can do it myself.
It makes sense that the "Service ABS" and "Service Traction Control" warnings would be caused by the module. Does it make sense that the "Service Active Steering" would be from the same failure?
I sure hope I can figure out how to remove this module myself. I don't mind paying for a guys expertise, but $600 just to remove and replace seems too high.
I also called another shop, West Coast Corvettes and they were about the same cost as Corvette Mikes.
I went for a cruise sat. morning thru some country roads (2 hour ride) after the cruise we all stopped for lunch,, came out cranked the car and I got the same mess. on the DIC.....drove it home...shut it off ..crossed my fingers and cranked it back ..mess was gone.. I wonder if you disconnect the battery for 15 min. and reconnect if that may reset it.... worth a try anyway.... Good Luck....

When mine throws the message, usually after a hard corner, or being airborne, I wait till I have to stop at a light or something, then shut the car off, open the door, close the door, then restart. If I don't open and close the door the message stays on when I restart.
Mr Biil I plan to call ABSFixer this week. I hope I can figure out how to do this myself. $150 vs $750 is an incredible savings.
I went to the ABSFixer website but looking at the pictures I still couldn't tell where the module is or what it will take to get it out. I'm not much of a mechanic, but I'll give it a try if I can see some pictures so I don't mess up.
I'm not home so I can't check the codes -- as soon as I get back I'll check them.
I really appreciate your help and telling me about ABSFixer.

The unit is mounted right under the power steering reservoir, You don't remove the whole unit, Only the part where the wires connect to. And car is driveable with the unit out.
