Not quite sure who you're admonishing but when someone tries to distort the truth, they will get called on it.
There's no distortion, that's a 2014 Vette and 2014 Camaro pictured.
Maybe Camaros didn't wish to be confused with the Vette.
I'm guessing all those that are complaining would not buy one regardless. I know I wouldn't buy a new car ever, but down the road a few years is a different story. When the C-5 came out many hated the 'big butt, when the C-6 came out many hated on the headlights. When the 63 coupe was introduced many hated on the split window..
Did people complain about the round taillights on the C5 being too similar to a Ferrari's taillights? There are only so many shapes you can use. Of course there will be a similarity. While I can see a similarity they are in no way identical or even close to being identical.
People are just complaining because it's a radical design and much different than previous generations. I for one wasn't too thrilled at first but it has grown on me. Be glad it doesn't follow Porsche where they look practically the same for the last 30 years.
I never understood all of the crying over the C7 tail lights. Sure, I guess it would be nice if the round (C6) or oval (C5) tail lights would become a Corvette standard, however this isn't the first time and it probably won't be the last time, that the Corvette and Camaro have shared styling characteristics. Seriously, they are both GM and they are both Chevrolet.
From what I read earlier pertaining to the C7 design, the rear tail lights were actually designed for the Corvette and then the Camaro utilized the design, not vice-versa. The issue is that the C7 was put on hold due to GM's financial challenges, so they introduced the Grand Sport models to keep the C6 platform fresh and then introduced the new Camaro which incorporated many of the C7 design characteristics.
I personally like the cosmetic updates for the 2014 Camaro & Camaro Z28 and I also like the new C7 tail lights, especially the depth of the LEDs.
If there are current Corvette owners who are not going to buy a C7 because of the design of the tail lights, they are missing out on a great car.
You need to lower your focus on to the exhaust pipes. 4 in a row = Corvette, 4 split = Camaro
Coincidentally, I saw a review last night on the latest Jaguar (F-type?). One of the things that distinguishes the topline model from the 'cheaper' ones is the exhaust tip placement: one has four in the middle and the other has two at each corner...and for the life of me I can't remember which is supposed to be the upscale version.
At any rate I suspect there will eventually be some enterprising exhaust vendor making a four-in-the-middle mod for the Camaro and/or a two-in-each-corner mod for the C7.
(Is that rear fascia all one piece or is the diffuser section separate?)
