Default Time for a change

I'm jumping forums. I've been a forum member for several years and have been helped by many in the C4 section who have patiently answered my questions about my '89 coupe. Well, yesterday I traded in my C4 and bought a beautiful low mileage (34K) black 2002 Z06. It looks like I'll be bothering people in the C5 section from now on with questions about my new (to me) car. I'll try to post some photos in the next few days. Now I'm off to find some narrower shoes. My wide sandals make keeping my foot off of the gas while braking a delicate chore. My C4 was an auto so this new 6 speed manual will take a little getting used to.

As you have already discovered, the difference between a C4 and a C5 is an order of magnitude.

Congrats!

Curious to what swayed you away from a vert?

There is a reason I asked! I wanted a Z myself, but the hard top alone pursuaded toward a vert. I'm simply curious what the reason is here.

Congrats on your new '02 Z06. I imagine it won't take too long to realize, if you havn't already that the C5 is an all around superior platform. Good luck and welcome to the 5th floor.

I went down to our local dealer yesterday hoping to look at some C5 roadsters. I saw this Z06 in the lot and fell in love. I've always liked the look of the hard top, probably because it has lines similar to the vert with the top up. The wind blows hard all summer long where I live and made driving with the Targa off of my coupe less than enjoyable. I just figured I could forego the wind and cow flatulence in my hair for a nice cozy and stylish ride in my new black-on-black beast.

Thanks to all who responded to my vert questions on my other thread here.

Very cool to get some more background on how you got to where you are

And if you start to want some more air you can always convert to a targa Z

Thanks for the welcome to C5 land, guys. I just received some great news. My lovely wife just informed me that she is buying this car for me as a present for my up-coming birthday. Now I'll have some money for some cup holders and fuzzy dice.
