I have seen threads on this but I have one question? Is the LMC5 which is installed in the passenger foot well BCM and the other column locks that is installed under the steering column due the same function? I am getting the "pull key wait 10 seconds" but not getting the service column lock. Will either of these cure the pull key message? My steering does lock when the key is pulled.
The LMC5 and under column CLB perform the same function of taking the actuator out of the circuit and simulating the correct feedback to the BCM.
If your column still locks, it appears that the GM recall was never performed on the car, since the recall also involves removing the lockplate.
Got the information back on my car. Thanks 8VETTE7 for the information got mine from Dennis. It says: Product Safety Recall

ELECTRONIC COLUMN LOCK SYSTEM

So it appears that it was done in '04 and according to your (8VETTE7) the column will still lock since mine is a manual. Would you still go ahead and install the LMC5 column lock bypass then? Thanks to all who have responded.
