Over the years I have purchased tire judged by the tire thread wear rating. The majority of the members of my car club like Michelins, Pirelli & Goodyears. When I look at the upper end tires, the tread wear rating are in the 250 to 350 range. Over the years I have purchased tires with 500 plus rating & still have a lot of life left with the tires where as others already have replaced there sets. This have saved me money on tire purchases for many years but I have never heard anyone mention this when purchasing or changing tires.

When sending in a check for yet another part, lick the envelope instead of the glue on the flap. Try to lick where the glue will land.

And when shopping for corvettes, always buy a convertible.

The closed cars are only made for people worried about their homies shooting at them.

For those that change their own oil,

Turn on ignition with out starting the engine
press accelerator three times
The oil monitor will reset to 100%.

PS
Damn, guys lighten up a bit.

Dude simply made a humorous post.

Tread wear ratings are not universal, but proprietary. Meaning each manufacturer uses their own rating system. You can compare one Goodyear tire to another good year tire for tread ware but you can not use the tread ware rating of a Goodyear against that of a Michelin. A 400 rating on a Goodyear could wear out faster than a 300 on a Michelin. Usually people compare prices and performance rating of different manufacturers offing similar style and type before making their choice. To use a tread ware rating could be very misleading. Tread ware rating do not serve as good measure of comparison.

I use the leaf blower on the inside of my cars. Open the doors and blast everything out. True the neighbors do look at you funny.

If you have belt squeel from serpentine belt or alternator belt and you can't determine if it is actually belt or bearing going bad apply candle wax or bar soap to the underside of the belt as the engine is running. If the squeeling stops it's the belt, if it doesn't it's likely a bearing or out of line pully.

my greatest joy was when i discovered that the center console lid actually could open fully and I didn't have to "slip" things in at an angle. LOL - the tip is once the lid is open about 45 degree angle pull on the top towards you, you will feel a slight give and then it opens up all the way. Even after reading the manual i must have overlooked that one.

I stuck a piece of pinstripe tape on the rocker panels, it shows where the center of the jacking puck needs to go. It's low enough that I can find it, but it's not noticeable otherwise. Saved an untold amount of wear & tear on the old knees.
