This past Monday was a pretty day so I decided to take a top down ride in the sun because they said it was going to get cold later on in the week.
I'm driving on the hilly curves not far from home enjoying the day listening to the pipes and thinking how great it is to be able to own and drive my vette. Then I hear a loud BOOM and think what did I hit, or did I run off the road or what. The dash display shows first with a low tire then the flat tire warning on the right front.
Glad I was just easing a round and not really into the throttle when it blew.
When I figured out I had a blow out I turned around and headed back home.
Glad I had the run flats or I would have been stuck for a while.
The date on my front tires are 03 so I guess they are due to be changed even though they still have a lot of tread left.
I need to drive more and wear the tires out instead of letting them get old and dangerous.
Mfg max life on tire for age is 4 yrs. I replace mine every 4 yrs or so, not due to age, but the lack of rubber. Wear em out ,, they still build new ones.
