I don't know the answer to your particular question. I've got a vert and do not find it so noisy that it bothers me in the stock condition. I've got a Lincoln that's quiet, but they are completely different cars with different expectations for me.
Congrats on the purchase. I know verts aren't as quiet as a frc or coupe, but I've quieted mine down some with a new set of non run flats and a foam partition for the trunk. Still plan on putting some sort of sound deadener in the trunk and cabin, but it sure is a lot quieter now with just those two things. Good luck and welcome.

Got my Vert in August.. went right down to the Stereo shop and bought a new stereo, amp, speakers and 10" sub.. can't hear anything I don't wanna hear anymore!
Yup....I like to make my passengers hear and feel the raw power!
It is a sports car , not trying to be a luxury car and unfortunately I see it heading that way. Look where the Ford Thunderbird went through the years after 1957 in search of more comfort. Everyone needs to man up.
I just bought a convertible and find it much quieter than the 98 coupe that I had. It depends on what is on the car. Aftermarket exhausts are louder , ,EMT tires tend to be noisy. If you are serious about sound insulation you always have the option of buying bulk sound deadner if a kit isn't available.
Best of luck!

Man up to what? We do have an awesome sports car. You have yours the way you want and we will have ours the way we what. That's the whole fun of these cars. To each his own.

Doesn't sound like it was directed to you since you are not complaining. It's for the people that want the comfort of a Lincoln in a sports car . It just wasn't meant to be. It's like a Harley and a Honda Gold Wing . They are two different animals. Do you want rugged and macho or do you want smooth and comfort. It's all up to you and is your choice , but be careful what you ask for because GM might be listening. Or maybe not !

Many Vette owners are getting up there in years. The smoother and more comfortable a car is, the more it's going to get driven. Having owned a C3, I am extremely pleased with ride and comfort of the C5 and I plan on taking it across the USA. If I want to feel macho, I press the right pedal. If I want to feel rugged I don't wear underwear.

To qualify your statement you need to realize that the FORD Thunderbird was built and marketed as a personal luxury car; not a sports car. The only qualifying sports car feature in the Thunderbird was that it featured no rear seat in the years 1955, 1956 and 1957.

Today was a fun day! Sunny and 80 trees have changed color here in Texas. Long curvy back roads to a remote BBQ and loop back to home. Wow, this is one fun car!
OP congrats on the purchase but no matter how much sound deadener you add it won't be as quiet as some other cars you might be used to not unless you put a hardtop on it also. Ditch the run flats and Put a catback on it and all you'll hear is a nice burble.
Tell us more about the car year options miles price etc and post some pics
