David,
You will simply love a Corvette Convertible. There is nothing like it. Cruising around town with the top down (mine is always down) is wonderful. 70 MPH on the freeway with the wind in your hair....can't be beat. Don't think anymore.....just buy one.

They can be a chick magnet, well also Corvettes in general, I once came out of a place to find a woman waiting for the owner of the red Corvette with convertible top.
She talked and told me she would love to drive it, and gave me her phone # and told me she would be sun tanning in her backyard topless, I was like "wow this would never happen with most other cars!"
I had a girlfriend at the time, but to be honest the biggest reason i did not call her was she said she likes to drive fast, and has wrecked lots of cars!
She got into her car and it was all scraped up on the side!
Hot or not, no way was she setting foot in my driver's seat!
You should have said that you would take her for a ride and that she could use the stick so that she would get a feel for the ride.
1. You can put the top down and go for a ride.
2. Stunning looks.
3. You can put the top down and go for a ride.
4. The biggest sunroof ever.
5. You can put the top down and go for a ride.
6. Top down cruising on a summer evening.
7. You can put the top down and go for a ride.
8. Top down cruising on a (fill in with any time of day at any time of year).
9. You get to call it a "rag top."
10. Top down and still enough room in the trunk for two people's luggage for 10 days and 2800 miles.
Cons
Haven't found one yet.
Save the hard top for your DD or for your second 'Vette. Go convertible.
K9Leader Red cars are faster. They did a study on it.
My c5 vert might get a few drops inside when driven in the rain, but it is clear to see it is just a matter of window adjustment, not a life style.
I use to run old English sports cars, (they didn't even have a hard top option) and I would have to stuff paper towels across the front of the inside top, to soak up the water. At times the towels would saturate, so I changed sopping wet towels out while driving.
PLus you had to remember to take your windows with you if you thought it might rain, if you only had side curtains and no roll up windows.
Some other member said this and I agree about a Corvette convertible...a lot less hassle from the driving public as they feel you are not out there to dominate the road but to have fun. If you are not using the Corvette as a daily driver it makes perfect sense to own a vert. I love mine and would not trade it.
