The Mecum auction is currently running here in Anaheim, CA.
As sharp as the hosts usually are, when a 2003 ZO6 convertible crossed the block, they failed to mention that it was a conversion; since as we know there were no ZO6 verts made.

Didn't watch the show, but I would hope that anyone buying a Vette would at least know that it did not come from the factory that way. Perhaps that is assuming too much.

Anyone else catch this?
Yeah I was screaming at the TV "that is not a real Z06!"
I would assume the info just didn't make it into the broadcast, and would be known to the bidders. If it were an auction at a traveling carny, I would worry. It certainly pays to know what 's up at an auction though.
At least the guy was on the right track, trying to build a convertible, instead of adding a supercharger to make the car better.

I saw a black Skunk Werks C5 Z06 convertible at Carlisle a few years back. Remarkable job cosmetically and it is a REAL Z06. It has simply been modified and upgraded to something better than it started life as. I can't recall the exact price of the conversion but I do remember it was over ten thousand dollars.
