I bought replica C6ZO6 rims for my C5. In the front I have 18x9.5 but I'm being told that even though they are 18s in the front, they will not clear C6ZO6 big calipers and that was the hold purpose - I love that big caliper look. I do not want to buy new rims and tires just to be able to buy brakes later.
I'm being told that I need at least .5" spacers on the front to make it happen.
I'm concerned about spacers -
1. I don't know anything about them
2. I know there are very inexpensive
3. I know they can be relative expensive
4. This is the big one - I do not want any vibration, etc etc as a result
Can you guys give me some information on good spacers that will fit my need.
I had a 911 Carrera that I put a roll bar and BBS wheels for track use only. With the BBS rims I had to use spacers which was my first experience using them on any car. I had no problems what so ever and I was working that car in every corner all day long on the track and then would drive it home. I would only re-torque the wheels after each session which is normal thing to do on any car after a track session. To answer your question, I would not be concerned with the spacers. You will need longer thread or lugs to make sure you get the proper amount of threads to tighten the wheel so it is safe but the space company should tell you and send you all parts.
After re-reading your post, I don't think I answered your question. When I bought my BBS rims, they supplied the spacers so I would think Corvette Mods would have some good spacers and tell you exactly what you would need for the wheel. I hope that helps.
Could always sell them and get the oem wheels they will work. As far as spacers go, no issues at all. I have 6mm up front and 1.5" adapters out back on my car. Just make sure your threads are long enough and you'll have no worries.
