So after realizing there is absolutely nowhere to put a drink that wont spill, or even toss my wallet or phone, i started searching for solutions. I saw a few places that sell vette caddy's, but they were like 150-250 bucks and went speaker to speaker but seemed a bit cumbersome with a lot of wasted space, so i decided to build one that better suited my needs. I built it out of a 1/2" x 1/2" wooden frame, (1x1 split in half), so i would have something to staple to, and then covered it with 1/4" plywood, the inside is 3" polyethylene foam, which really helps hold a solid shape, and covered in black thin wall carpet. overall dimensions are 10" x 24" x 3.5", and its small enough that i can move it around if needed, very stable, i put the cutouts towards the front for easier reach and unit stability. I started to build a hingeable door on one side but opted out as didn't really have the need, so the rectangles work for my needs. it stays in place perfectly no mounts needed, sits flush with the cargo divider, and it probably only weighs about a pound or so. Just thought I would share.

Looks good, but just curious what keeps it from sliding around should you make a sharp turn, step on the gas hard or brake hard?
the carpet that it is covered in pretty much acts like velcro against the car carpet, two separate textures, i've tested steppin on the throttle, braking hard, and fast corners and it stays in place.

Wait!!! Step on the throttle hard??? What's that??
Good creative idea! I like. One of the problems with the vette is finding a place to put sunglasses & CDs. Unfortunately this idea is not going to work with a convertible. But...you started the juices flowing.
For the gentleman Cramar, the visor clip sold by most of the Corvette accessory guys is available in C5 and C6 logo and takes good care of the sunglasses. Just an idea!
I do like the creativity with the foam cup/sunglass holder.
I would be trying to put a round can into a square hole! I found a cup holder in the console close to the ashtray.
oh thats no cup holder, its more like a drink dumper, although it works great sitting still. i found it a great place to stick my garage door opener. .
