I've looked around the forum, bit haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I have a scuff on the outside drivers side bolster, and am thinking this is a repair I might tackle myself. Anyone have a recommendation for a leather repair kit?
I'm interested too! I have a discoloration on my driver side seat. Black leather.
On a couple of websites, they recommend a three of four step process. Suggestions??????
I have a little color missing on one of mine. I'm sure it will require a leather dye kit or touch up kit. At least yours is black, color mixing should be easier. Mine is gray or pewter. I imagine it will be a tricky to match the original color.
Wonder if GM sells OEM leather touch up? I've never checked yet.

Not aware of a touch up kit, but if you have a vendor in your area called Dr. Vinyl, look them up. I had them repair some interior pieces in a previous Vette and when they were done, you couldn't tell there was ever a bad spot.

Well our town is so small I know there is no such business here. I'll have to check El Paso TX or Las Cruces NM. Both are short drives. I have a small area on the drivers seat where the seat hinge is located that could use a little repair.

In the North East, no Dr Vinyl but found Corvette repair kit from CA, anyone use?

Eckler's sells a Leather repair kit that has pewter leather dye in it. A bit pricy at 59.99 but xmas is coming. The leather dye matches the early light pewter perfectly. I think you give them the color code when you order.
My driver's seat is half ShoeGoo and wallboard tape but the leather dye makes it all match. ShoeGoo actually wears better than the original leather.

Awsome, I'll check it out. Nice to know they have a color match!
Thanks for the tip. Interesting fix you did on yours..Shoegoo....who'd a thunk it!!
Called Dr. Vinyl this morning. They no longer work with individuals.......must go through a dealer. Oh well, here's what I'm dealing with.
I know the idea is to repair the material . . but I'd almost try using black shoe polish and working it into the scuff at least to cover it up . . .at some point, you'll need to find a shop that does interiors for cars/boats and have them try and match that panel of the seat . . .but shoe polish would cover it for now and after it dries and is buffed, shouldn't rub off on your pants?
