Come on guys- Shocks are movement dampeners, not support members. The only way new shocks could affect the height of the car is if the shocks were bottomed out!
I upgraded the 3 different types of stockish end links that were on my car to the heavy duty ones and man, they are noisy as heck. Always making a clunking sound every little dip in the road. I have new shocks and new C6 sway bars and all was fine till i upgraded the end links... =/

That actually depends upon the vehicle. My 04 Tahoe dropped an inch when I removed the factory HD shocks. They were more like gas hood struts than shocks though. Couldn't even push them in by hand.
