Default 03 Vert Rear Window

So I'm driving into work at the Arsenal in Huntsville this morning and after going through the Gate and bouncing off the speed bumps I look in the rear view mirror to change lanes and it looks really weird. Turns out the rear window has seperated from the top and fallen halfway into the car. Great! We are looking at 4 inches of rain over the next few days! Anyone have this kind of work done in Huntsville, AL? Right now I plan to take it to Rods Custom Body shop unless someone has a better recomendation. They put a new glass rear window in a Miata I had 10 years ago and did a great job at a reasonable price. Thanks for any help.

No suggestions but keep us posted on what you plan/have done to rectify the issue. What a pain I agree. Good luck, Rob

No need to pay to have someone fix this or replace the glass. It's super easy. I had to glue mine back last year. This was the steps that I followed and had it fixed in no time. If you don't have the suction cups shove some pillows in there to hold it till your glue sets. Good luck.

PS. Be sure to use Rhino Glue.

When I bought my 03 AE vert rear window was starting to separate.

I've used cyanoacrylate glues like Rhino for a long time and wasn't comfortable using it in an area that would be exposed to water.

I'm also familiar with epoxies, so I chose to use 5-minute epoxy instead, mainly because they are mostly water-proof.

I used Loctite Instant Mix epoxy because it has the small mixing nozzles which allowed me to squirt a bead of glue inside the seam.

Here's the link for the thread on how to refasten your convertible top:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...-refasten.html

I wasn't able to use suction cups, so I used some bubble wrap rolled into a tube on the inside and some sandbags to push the top down against the window while the glue dried.

You will want to unlatch and prop up the front of the top to give some slack to the fabric.

there's a whole thread that goes back a couple of years on this very subject, seems Rhino glue is the most popular fix, it recently happened to my '02 vert, tried various cures, epoxies, etc, went the Rhino glue route and so far so good, 1 yr, a few rain storms, and pleanty of car washes...

Thanks for all the replies. I wimped out and took it to Rod's Custom Body Shop. They said they fix a lot of these and it will be ready tomorrow. I simply don't have the time to mess with this right now.
