Please settle a bet
Months ago I contacted a forum sponsor about converting my 2000 vert 6 speed manual transmission to an auto which they could do.
At that time I requested that I would like a Paddle shift auto and was told it wasn't available for my 2000 vert.
My neighbor insists that he had a 1999 corvette with a paddle shift transmission; I told him it wasn't available.
Any comments would be appreciated; not a lot of money riding on the bet. Just a case of Miller light; but I hate to be wrong with this guy.
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all forum members.

Paddle shift was never available on a C5. They came in 6 speed stick or 4 speed auto.

For a Vette, the 6-speed paddle shift trans first became optional starting with the 2006. And
using the paddle became optional for the driver.

Rather than wagering a case of beer, your neighbor should share whatever he's been smoking with you.

Your neighbor obviously has enough Miller, as he must have been drunk when he paddle-shifted his car without paddle shifters.

On a related note, he must have made a lot of drivers angry when he flashed his brights at them all the time. LOL

That product is by a personal friend of mine, Lou. He owns a company called mastershift. He won an engineering award at SEMA 2012. His place is just north of San Diego.
You can shift the manual with a paddle setup, but it still requires use of the clutch. The Auto stuff I don't know much about...never dealt with it.
I had a setup in this car for SEMA 2010.
I still have a setup here I don't know what to do with. It's for a Ford GT Ricardo tranny though...but he can reprogram them to run any tranny.

RC000E...if Lou is a personal friend, perhaps you have some insight as to why the website isn't working? I tried to go to the website to get some info, but no go...
Thanks

If he had a paddle shift in his '99, someone did a lot of work to make it that way.
