Hey guys I am in need of some help. Ever since I got my vette this summer it doesnt always shift right and as of late it is really getting annoying. Here are the symptoms, and all this is maybe 50% of the time, other 50% its fine. It wont go into first gear at all and after I double clutch it may, usually after I press it a few times it will go in. Kind of tight going into other gears, like it is harder than it should be. Here is a scenario that happens often, come up to a light and stop. Light turns green press clutch wont go into 1st, put into second just fine, go back to neutral, press the clutch again boom goes into first no problem. I feel it is more of the hydraulics in the clutch than trans but who knows. Clutch fluid is clear, when I first got it it was pitch black and did ranger method for a few weeks and finally cleared up and it got much better but the issue still there. Any ideas?

My 03 would do this about 10-15% of the time. Wasn't enough to motivate me to investigate it further, but I always found that if I shifted to another gear and then tried the problem gear again (reverse in my case) that it would almost always work. In my case I'm pretty sure it was a syncro issue in the tranny and not clutch related.
I agree with Mark, My did this also, I found my shifter moved little forward, realignment fix the issue, also did anti-venom mod, which help with easier shift.

These two mods will do the trick, i had to use 2 brass washers in detent bolt.
(Anti-venom Mod: on passenger side transmission way u top, use 24mm socket, 3" extension 1/2" drive, and and 1/2" drive ratchet Wrench, crack loose, fluid wont leak as its way up top, install one washer( take Detent bolt with you to autozone and look for Drain plug washers....get couple of em, but install only one and test drive how you feel, if need be repeat the procedure and install second one, do not get greedy and use thicker washers, as it will pop shifter out of gear)).
While you there check fluid level too for both tranny and Diff.
