Got down to Florida for the winter a couple of days ago.
While driving my wifes minivan down route 19 in Clearwater I stopped at
a traffic light and a new C7 pulls up next to me.
Here's the mean part.
the temp was about 83 and we both had our windows down.
I said to the guy "Nice Car ", he replied "thanks, and the light changed.
Next light we are side by side again. He says to me "beautiful day huh ?
I said it sure is, then I ask " Is that the new Camaro ?"
He replies NO ITS A CORVETTE !!!
I said WOW it sure looks like a Camaro !
Light changed and he drove off in a "Brisk" manor.
I guess I'll go to Corvette hell now !!

Where was your Christmas spirit? I probably would be miffed if some guy said that about my new Corvette?! Doesn't sound like you were happy with the outcome either. Merry Christmas.

I'm sorry but I just dont like the C7, the *** end looks like a cross between a Camaro and Cadillac . I know that the C7 has some nice new updates and tech gizmo's but I think the rear end could have been better.
Maybe I'm just too old to embrace the new generation idea of cool.
But I'll take ANY generation of Vette but not a C7, and yes I was probably a little harsh to the guy, but I dont think I'll be the only person he'll hear it from.
Shoot. If I were driving a minivan I'd probably be hiding my face in shame. I sure as heck wouldn't be saying anything that could be interpreted as making fun of a man driving a man's car, Corvette or otherwise.

You're probably to old to appreciate the entire package. IMO the most important part of that package is the performance the C7 delivers for the price. Arguably the best bang for the buck!
Had I been driving that C7 and had you asked me that question...I would have ignored you and thought to myself...Get a clue old man!
Merry Christmas
BTW...you may want to post this in the "I hate the C7 square tail lights" section if it ever opens up.

Mini van? Too bad the guy didn't ask you how you're recovering from your castration surgery.
Sorry, but I just can't let go of the mini-van aspect of this whole thing. Between my wife and me our kids are 30, 25 & 22, so we were parents of young kids right in the middle of the time of the great mid/late 80s minivan rush. My wife takes great pride in being able to say that she never owned or drove "one of those damn things" (her terminology). To be fair she did drive an original Taurus wagon and an Explorer but never a mini-van.
I still remember when I was a young bachelor driving a Datsun 280Z and my boss was all excited over the new first year 4-cylinder refrigerator-white Dodge Caravan that he had factory ordered. Thing took forever to arrive, mostly because people were waiting in line to buy those crap boxes and at a premium. There was some speculation that his arrived at the dealership, and was subsequently sold and delivered to someone else probably for more than his negotiated price so they had to order him a second one.
Personally I'd rather chew on a piece of aluminum foil before being caught dead behind the wheel of a mini-van. If I did drive one I sure as hell wouldn't let any of my CF friends know about it!

That's a very narrow minded perspective. I understand some of the stereotypes about minivan drivers but there are also *******s that drives every type of car. In today's automotive world, the only thing that separates a minivan from the super cool SUV's and Crossovers is a sliding door.
I drive a Toyota Sienna Limited and it is a great vehicle. Every luxury plus more convenience and utility than a SUV. I am secure enough to day I drive a minivan as my daily driver. Call it a minivan if you want but to me it's no different than a SUV or Crossover. Heck, it looks better than most of them.
Further, I am as much "car guy" as possible. There are a few dozen of us on this board on a daily basis. We value our Corvettes about as much as anyone. I am proud to be one of those. Call me a minivan driver if you want. Whatever. I don't get the silly hatred for a certain vehicle
