Default What price to sell diff for..

I'm clearing out large, potentially valuable, but hard to sell items. My stock 2.73 diff is mainly whats on my mind. It was removed at 58k miles for a RPM stage 2 diff. Though not sought after, it is a perfectly good diff that could really save your butt in a pinch (say a blown diff).

What should I sell it for? I keep it around for the reason I mentioned, a good spare. But I need room in my tiny garage. I don't want to basically give the thing away, but I know the need for it will be far and few in-between.. I was thinking an asking price of 300 on craigslist.. Too much? Not enough?

A new one can be had for + or - $1700. $3-400 + shipping would be a more than fair price for the unit IMHO. Advertise it here in the parts for sale section, you will get more interest and have a better chance of selling.

I'd say around $500 is a good asking price. You can always accept a lower offer.

I'd be interested in taking it off your hands depending on price, wish you were local though...want to use it for a project.

I'll post it locally and on here, but anyone reading this that wants it can have it for 300 plus shipping. Might put it up for 450 on craigslist in the meantime and see if I get any bites.

Pre-z06, I wouldnt know whats involved in shipping it, but feel free to PM me if you'd like.

I think what you have in mind is a fair price. Good luck with the sale.

Your situation of a blown diff is how I ended up with the 2.73 that is in my car to get back on the road quickly while I rebuilt the 3.15 that took a dump. Your price of $300 is fair.

Good luck selling yours. I've been trying to sell mine for $200 and haven't had any takers yet....
Since mine is a 3-rib I figured I could use it as a spare but came to find out it won't work on my car due to the fact that its an 03 2 series and mine is a 2000 with 3.42's.

Any who... good luck with your sale.

You could try $300 but be ready to take a little less - they unfortunately are not in demand!

However some heavily Boosted guys at times want a little less gear to take advantage a lot of RWHP - only in some cases! I know a couple who have!

Thanks,Matt

Thanks everyone, great advice and suggestions . I will post for 400 and take as low as 300 give or take. Likely it will be for sale for quite some time.

Sinister-one, I think you would be safe raising your asking price. It's not the price that's stopping it from selling. Simply the low demand. We will likely just have to keep re-posting for a long while.
